So I grabbed a part time seasonal job working in an industrial bakery, and this part time job is 35 hours of hard labor. I’m not complaining, I just need to adjust to it. I’d even like to see this continue somewhat after the holidays, we shall see if that possible.
A few things I’m noticing, I need to eat more and make sure I’m getting enoug salt, stocked up on some v8 finally, that should help. I’m getting a workout with the ups and downs and the twisting while holding heavy things, the arms too are getting a workout when making bread. It sounds silly but dang, I found a muscle on my arm I didn’t know existed before.
My feet hurt, like crazy, I need to make sure that when I take my breaks I sit down, because my feet are screaming. My shoes are good shoes, right support, it’s just a lot of time on my feet.
My hands are very dry, and when I’ve ome I’m slathering them in lotion. It’s from the washing every ten minutes and gloves. Also, being caked in flour dries everything out.
My lips are champing, blistex to the rescue.
I come home covered in flour, or worse, flour mixed with sweat so it’s a kind of glue. It’s not bad though, im doing well and getting faster each day. I’m on my third week (I think) and its working.
I’m having little problems falling asleep, that’s what tumblr used to be for me, reading to get me to sleep. That’s not happening now, I’m crashing after a few pages. Oops. That’s good though, while I still have my apnea problems, my insomnia seems to be gone for now.
